Indredients

– 1/2 cup fresh turmeric, scrubbed clean
– 1/2 cup fresh ginger, scrubbed clean
– 4 cups clean water
– 1/2 cup lemon juice
– 1/2 tsp peppercorn, optional
– 1 tbsp raw honey or maple syrup, optional

Method

Jamu – Blend the turmeric and ginger with 1/2 cup of the water.

  • Add the lemon juice and peppercorns (if using), then blend again.
  • Pour into a pot then add the rest of the water. Stir to combine.
  • Simmer gently for 10 mins.
  • Cool slightly, then stir in the honey. Strain. Bottle.
  • Keep in the fridge for months. Or, pour your Jamu into large ice cubes and pull out the day before as needed. Avoid drinking it cold. Room temperature is recommended.
